This simple cheese bread recipe is very versatile. The loaf makes great sandwiches, paninis or simple toasts, while the crusty bread bowl is awesome for chili or clam chowder.
A very versatile bread recipe. Great for little dinner rolls, bread bowl and toast!
- 3-3.25 Cup Flour
- 1.25 Cup Warm Milk
- 2 tsp Dry Yeast
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Butter EVOO works as well
- 1.5 Cup Shredded cheese cheddar or asiago
- 1 tbsp Garlic Salt
- 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
Add yeast and sugar in warm milk, let stand for 5 minutes till top is foamy
Mix all the dry ingredient
Add milk mixture into the dry mixture, knead till all combined and smooth.
Let stand in warm place till the dough doubles in size, about 40 minutes
Punch down the dough, knead and shape into desired form, let it stand for another 20 minutes
Preheat oven to 375F, bake for 30 minutes or till top is golden. It's optional to brush the top with egg wash, as well as sprinkle cheese on top of the bread before baking.
